Our first website was launched in 2004 and hence has ever since been an established institution in winter tourism. The conception is unique. skigebiete-test.de and its english associate website skiresorts-test.com are the only internet platforms that offer independently rated test reports on skiing regions all over the world and that for free. The reports' authors are without exception members of our editorial staff and evaluate resorts in the following categories:

Not only independent ratings of resorts, but also a great amount of general information on the skiing regions is posted on the websites. About a thousand webcams supply updates on ski resorts in the Alps and even in New Zealand and Australia. Our Austrian partner "Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik" supplies us with daily weather and snow reports data. These data are customized to the skiers' needs and posted online. Users can easily find and choose hotels or apartments close to their destination out of about 30.000 registered accomodations. Clearly structured entries show the accomodations' availability, price ranges and features.

What's special about the website?

The ski-resorts-configuration-system links our database, including all information on the ski resorts and meteorological data, to a geographical database, where Germany's, Austria's and Switzerland's cities are listed. This system allows users to find ski resorts close to their home town or destination matching their needs (e.g. excellent family program). You can also enter the weather conditions: "Show all ski resorts within a 200 kilometers' distance from Munich where snow level exceeds 1 meter and with the sun currently shining" is an example for the system's benefits.

Who are the "customers"?

The reportings' categories show that there are dozens of sorts of customers who visit our website frequently: Snowboarders, skiing pros, sporty families. Thanks to our site providing current webcam, snow and weather reports, many skiers spontaneously decide where to spend their skiing trip. Mostly German-speaking users, but also many Dutch visitors use our website's offerings.
